Happy Sunday! If you know me at all, you know that I almost always order a matcha latte when I am out. Long before it became trendy, aesthetic, or popular, it was my go-to order because it is green, and green has always been my favourite colour. Recently, I have had the pleasure of trying some truly high-quality matcha around Vancouver, and I have come to enjoy the finer things when it comes to a proper whisked brew.

Naturally, when Tim Hortons released their brand new matcha drink line, I knew I had to give it a fair shot. Was I expecting artisanal, ceremonial-grade quality from a fast-food? No, of course not. But I was still curious to see what we would get.

So, what exactly did I get? To put it gently, there was no matcha taste to be found. Honestly, it felt exactly like drinking a cup of warm green milk. Was I completely disappointed? Not really. I understand they are simply trying to jump into the massive matcha hype right now, so I get why the drink exists. However, if you genuinely like the earthy, rich profile of a real matcha latte, please do yourself a favour and skip this one.
