Where to Eat in Singapore?

I had a great vacation in Singapore, and in this post, I'll share where I ate.

Tak Po

Famous in Chinatown for Hong Kong Dim Sum & Congee

This is where we had lunch on our first day. We had Har Gao, Prawn & Mushroom Dumpling, Chicken Rice, and Crispy Yam Dumpling. It was over-all a pleasant experience. Great food and at a reasonable price.

This Crispy Yam Dumpling is delicious.

Har Gao

Location: 42 Smith Street, Chinatown, Singapore

Lau Pa Sat Festival Market

Before heading to the Merlion Park, we decided to grab some snacks here. It's a Hawker style place where the best laksa in town can be found. We had some fantastic egg tart from the store in the middle (too bad I didn't get the name) and some fresh pineapple juice (freshly squeezed pineapple with ice). It's not the best combination, but the egg tart is spot on.

Maxwell Food Center

I had three meals in this hawker place: Japanese (some gyoza and onion pancakes), Thai (Pad Thai), and Chinese/Singaporean (Hainanese Chicken). I was able to try the Hainanese Chicken from Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken, and I must say it was delicious! Juicy, soft, and spot on!

Tekka Centre

I love Indian food! That's why we had our lunch in the Tekka Centre. It's a hawker-style place with lots of Indian food choices. I couldn't even decide what I want at the beginning but end up with the most amazing Naan Bread I have tasted with matching Chicken Curry. It was spot on. My boyfriend ordered a random drink called Chendol, which is refreshing.

People's Park Food Centre

We had some lemon chicken (which is pretty lame), laksa, and grilled chicken. The Singaporean Laksa was spicy by default (since I love spicy, I fell in love with it instantly!) Also, visit Bee Kim Heng because they sell the most delicious jerky ever.

The Cheese Steak Shop

The Cheese Steak Shop located in Arnaiz (formerly Pasay Road) in Makati is having a promo a buy one take one for all it's 7" sandwiches this November 22 to 24. With that, Jomar and I tried the following:

Premium Cheese Steaks with Bacon (P320)

Premium Cheese Steaks with Pepperoni (P320)

Large Fries (P150 with any soda)

Comments:
1. They had real slow service. Maybe because they're new or something but it took them sometime to give us our food (or maybe we're just hungry impatient bunch during that time).
2. They give us incomplete orders. I received my drinks last and I need to demand for it together with my fries (maybe they still need to improve their overall process inside the kitchen).
3. The sandwiches itself wasn't that great. Maybe I expected more cheese and better tasting beef in my sandwich.
4. I liked their fries though. :)
5. The buffalo wings is okay but not something I would return to (I would prefer Buffalo Wings and Things any given day).

I guess that's it. Will I be coming back for more? Maybe after a few months when improvements or something happen.

Hap Chan Tea House

It seems that our family loved Chinese food. One of our fave restaurants in terms of Chinese food is Hap Chan Tea House. The Congressional Branch is definitely the closest in our house. If you want to try Chinese food better check out Hap Chan Tea House.

World Chicken

World Chicken offers quite a unique dining experience where you could Create Your Own Platter. Check the link for a complete list of their menu.

For this dining, I had Two Sidings of Asian Noodle and Tuna Fettuccine and Gravy as the sauce. The branch I frequently visit is the one in Greenbelt 1, Makati.

ToSh: The Old Spaghetti House

The Old Spaghetti House is no doubt my fave place to get yummy pasta. I have tried their branches in Valero, Makati and UP Ayala Technohub, Quezon City.

I am in love with their Pasta Meal, Golden Crusted Chicken, Ham and Cheese Crepe with Angel Hair Pomodoro (P180)

To try something different Jomar had Oriental Spaghetti (P120) which is actually pretty nice. It tastes like Asian Noodle Pasta.

For dessert we had Golden Oreo Cookie ala Mode which is the exact replica of Wicked Oreo from Flaming Wings.

I will definitely be coming back for more!

House of Sisig

Sisig seems to be one of the usual company of beer or alcohol in the Philippines. Its history and origin seem to point in the province of Pampanga, but the taste, style, and ingredients vary everywhere. I would like to share with you my first-time experience in the House of Sisig in City Mall Philcoa in Quezon City (along Commonwealth Avenue).

Since I love sisig, I have tried many variations from different sources. From the Makati-famous Sisig Rada JolliJeep to Gilligans Restaurant, sisig is available almost everywhere at various price points. The sisig from House of Sisig offers a variety of sisig (original, tuna, chicken, beef, seafood, spicy squid, bangus, and crab). All sisig is available at (P105) with rice plus P10 for the extra egg. Boyfriend and I had their uniquely called SOMA (South of Manila) and NOMA (North of Manila) Sisig.

It's not the best sisig I have tried but tasty enough for sisig lovers like myself. For the look of the place, I fell in love with the wall with map wallpapers.

NoMa (North of Manila) Sisig Solo (P115 with Egg) (served with Mayonnaise)

SoMa (South of Manila) Sisig Solo (P115 with egg) (served with vinegar and chilis)

To end our meal, we had their chocolate mousse, which is quite pleasant after the spicy meal.

Chocolate Mousse (P58)

The House of Sisig accepts cash payments only and is open daily from 10am to 10pm daily. You could contact them thru this number 4071964.
