Lunch delivery from Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

Happy Sunday! It's the last day of the month, and hubby said that we should order ramen.

Two-level containers with soup at the bottom and the noodles and toppings at the top.

Hubby loves the containers for the ramen! The soup is at the bottom, while the noodles and toppings are at the top of the container. You just need to pour the container's top floor to the bottom floor to have your ramen mixed together.

Kara-Miso Cha-Shu Ramen - Seasoned with hot spices and miso (fermented soybean paste). Egg noodles, a double portion of pork belly, green onions, black mushrooms, fishcake, bamboo shoots, and sesame seeds.

I love the egg noodles in the ramen. It has a nice bite, and it's perfectly cooked (not soggy), and the cha-shu (pork belly) is fatty and melts in your mouth. However, I did find the broth too salty. It could be me and my overall low salt tolerance.

Toroniku Shio Ramen - Pork broth seasoned with salt. Simmered pork jowl(cheek), bamboo shoot, mushroom, green onion, naruto fish cake, Japanese plum and sesame seed.

Zangi - Deep-fried chicken 

I have no idea why it's called zangi and not kara-age. (A few moments later). I did a quick Google Search, and kara-age is what the Japanese called fried chicken. However, in Hokkaido, they call kara-age, zangi. The cooking is different as well. When cooking zangi, you marinate the chicken first, but this is not done in kara-age. 

Gyoza - Japanese fried pork dumplings (five pieces)

A reminder for future me: don't order Gyoza next time even though you love dumplings. Get two orders of the fried chicken instead.

Lunch delivery from Donair Pro

Happy Friday! Hubby had a company-paid lunch. I ordered lunch for myself too.

Donair Pro has replaced Donair Spot (blog post here and here) in 403 West Broadway. The falafel was delicious. I requested meat, but they forgot.

Falafel Platter - Falafel platter served with basmati rice, tabooli, hummus, pita bread, tzatziki, garlic, and mild hot sauce.

I wonder what happened to the previous owner of Donair Spot. I went there twice, and he's such a nice, funny man.

Chocolate Hazelnut Éclair Dream and Sea Salted Caramel Dream Dream Donuts from Tim Hortons

Happy Thursday! It's also National Lego Day! I ordered a "4 Privet Drive" Harry Potter Lego Set and got two free items. Unfortunately, FedEx didn't ring our doorbell or gave us a call when it tried to deliver it to our place, so we had to pick it up at the closest FedEx pickup point. Since it's National Lego Day, we decided to pick it up today. We also decided to grab donuts from Tim Hortons before heading home.

Hubby requested that I get any limited edition donuts that they have. Looking at the menu, they're promoting the "Dream Donuts," and I got both Chocolate Hazelnut Éclair Dream and Sea Salted Caramel Dream.

Chocolate Hazelnut Éclair Dream

I enjoyed both donuts. It's surprisingly not stale. It's soft, and the filling inside the Éclair is delicious. I am willing to get it again.

Sea Salted Caramel Dream

The Sea Salted Caramel Dream is good, but not as delicious as the eclair. At least, it wasn't stale like the Dream Donuts from last year.

Dinner delivery from Subway

We watched Touch Your Heart Korean series, and they kept eating at Subway. 🥪 Because of the series and because Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills both lost their games today, I need to stress eat, so we ordered from Subway.

Hubby ordered a 6" Chicken and Bacon Ranch Sub Melt Combo with two White Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies and  Brisk® Lemon Iced Tea. I picked Chicken Caesar Large Wrap with Savory Caesar sauce. I prefer the Chipotle Steak & Guac Wrap last time.

I love the Salt and Pepper Popcorn Chicken so much. I am so happy to ordered two servings of this and there's more pieces this time than when we ordered it previously. 

Malay Sponge Cake

I highly recommend this sponge cake. It's fluffy and soft. I wanted more. I can't wait to eat in the restaurant again to enjoy all this from the kitchen.

Hubby ordered Tonic Beef Noodle Soup and it's the delicious. I actually prefer it than the Premium Beef Noodle Soup, but it could just be me.

Lunch delivery from Papa John's Pizza while watching NFL Divisional Round

Happy Saturday! It's NFL Divisional Round Weekend and Pokemon GO Community Day, which has no relation to why we ordered pizza. 😆 For lunch, we ordered from Papa John's for the first time. It's actually my first time trying Papa John's Pizza ever.

It's my first time trying Papa John's Pizza, and I still prefer Pizza Hut. However, I love their dough. Though the pizza doesn't have enough sauce. My youngest sister described it perfectly that a great pizza needs to have the right dough, cheese, and sauce ratio. This one doesn't have that.

7-Cheese Stuffed Cheesesticks ❤

The 7-Cheese Stuffed Cheesesticks are my favourite thing we got so far. It's cheesy and gooey on the inside and crunchy on the outside.

Jalapeno Popper Rolls 👍

The Jalapeno Popper Rolls is obviously spicy. I think the one from Pizza Pizza is better because that one is cheesy and spicy. This one is just spicy.

Papa's Chicken Poppers 👌

It's chicken, how can you go wrong? I don't think I have a favourite chicken sidekick from the different pizza places I have tried because they taste the same.

Double Chocolate Chip Brownie ❤

The only other pizza place (that I know) that serves brownies is Pizza Hut, and I like this one better. It's chewy and moist on the inside. The edges and crunchy, but it's mostly fudgy. I like it. Hubby prefers the one from Pizza Hut.

Happy Friday! For lunch today, I had Filipino food delivered from the KamayKainan Facebook page. I ordered three things: Kare-Kare, lumpiang shanghai, and pancit palabok.

I made a terrible mistake and gave the wrong address. Instead of our street, I gave the closest cross street. Big facepalm. They're nice enough to deliver it still to our house.

Kare-Kare

Creamy peanut butter stew with shrimp paste (bagoong) is so delicious with rice. Their spicy bagoong is fantastic. This is the kare-kare with most meat and vegetable I have tried. There's not a lot of sauce (compared to Tasty Pinoy BBQ Skewers at iba pa and Cooking Ng Ina (putaheng Pinoy), but the amount of meat and vegetable more than compensate for it. I love how soft the beef is.

Pancit Palabok

This is hubby's request because we don't usually order palabok, and not many online vendors sell them—Yay for palabok. I enjoyed the chicharon on top (I don't eat chicharon by itself, but when mixed on a dish, I don't mind). There are gigantic shrimps and seafood in it. It's perfect with a squeeze of lemon on top.

I love how colourful the palabok is.

Pancit Palabok

Lumpiang Shanghai

Lumpiang Shanghai is delicious. This has replaced Little Ongpin as my favourite source of Lumpiang Shanghai. If you have been following my blog (I highly doubt anyone does, LOL), I have a "best" or favourite version of specific dishes, and this has just become my favourite Lumpiang Shanghai. I'm so happy.

Hubby did say it would be even better after it becomes crispy again. I can't wait to reheat the leftovers in my air fryer.

Dear Lumpiang Shanghai, I can't wait to reheat you in the air fryer.

I don't eat rice cakes (kakanin) in general. But hubby does,       and he approves of this Maja we got for free. Thanks, Lynn, for the free small Maja.
