Loblaws City Market (The Post): Fast & Fresh Downtown Dinners

Located in the historic Canada Post building, this is the perfect stop for a quick, good-quality meal after a long day at the office.

  • 🍱 The Spread: Korean Fried Chicken, Teriyaki Salmon, and Ham Kimbap.
  • 💰 The Price: Under $30.00 for a full meal for two.

The clock hit 7:00 pm before I finally stepped away from my desk this Thursday. I felt tired and completely overwhelmed. The thought of standing over a stove at home felt impossible. Hubby and I made the decision to skip the cooking and head over to Loblaws City Market at The Post. It turned a stressful evening into a quiet moment where I could finally exhale.

A Stress-Eating Spread

We did not hold back on the comfort food tonight. We needed something hearty, fast, and satisfying.

  • The Order: Korean Fried Chicken Rice Bowl ($8.00).

This bowl was exactly what my mood called for. The chicken was glossy and coated in a sticky sauce with just the right amount of kick. The fresh cabbage and carrots added a crisp contrast to the fluffy white rice.

  • The Order: Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl ($10.00).

Hubby chose the salmon. The fish was flaky and glazed in a savoury sauce that pooled perfectly over the sesame seeds. It felt much more premium than a typical grocery store meal.

  • The Order: Ham Kimbap from T&T Section ($7.00 for 10 pieces).

Since I was stress eating, we stopped by the T&T section for a pack of kimbap. Each slice was tightly-packed with yellow radish, egg, and ham. It provided the ultimate comforting spicy side dish to round out our dinner.

Finding Balance at The Post

The Post is becoming one of my favourite spots in downtown Vancouver for a quick meal. You get the convenience of a grocery store with the quality of a specialized food hall. For under $30, we walked away full and happy with no dishes to wash.
