🍔 The Travel Confession: Late Night Carl's Jr. in CDMX
| The Situation: | Post-moving day fatigue after a long period of careful eating |
| Our Orders: | Famous Star Combo ($163 MXN) & Chargrilled Santa Fe Chicken Combo ($196 MXN) |
| The Verdict: | Mediocre burgers, but elite sides and absolute comfort |
Okay, I am about to share something that might make some food purists judge me, but I promise it was exactly what the situation called for! After a long, careful day of strictly controlling what I ate due to a sudden tummy ache last night, my appetite finally made a roaring comeback. Combine that hunger with the sheer exhaustion of moving hotels, and we ended up doing the ultimate travel sin: grabbing dinner at Carl's Jr.
Sometimes when you are tired, hungry, and adjusting to a new space, you just crave the comfort of familiar food. We carried our bag of fast food back and enjoyed our burgers in the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel common area.
Hubby opted for the classic Famous Star Combo ($163 MXN), while I chose the Chargrilled Santa Fe Chicken Combo ($196 MXN). Now, let us be totally real: these are not great burgers. They are fairly mediocre, standard fast-food builds. But honestly? It did not matter one bit.

What truly elevated the whole meal was the excellent variety of sides we got. We ended up with a glorious spread of classic french fries, seasoned crisscut fries, and crispy onion rings. Snacking on those while winding down from all the walking and transit was pure bliss.

By the time we finished, I felt completely full, thoroughly satisfied, and ready for a deep sleep. Traveling is all about balance, and sometimes that balance means pausing the culinary exploration for a night to just reset with some plain old comfort food in your pyjamas. No regrets!
