Urban Corner CDMX Review: The Perfect Pre-Flight Airport Breakfast

✈️ Airport Breakfast at Urban Corner

Location: Urban Corner Restaurant & Panaderia (inside MEX after security)
The Orders: Sincronizada Jamón y Queso ($197 MXN) & Molletes 3 Quesos ($207 MXN)
Drinks: Chamomile Tea & Hot Mocha

Our flight back home to Vancouver was scheduled for 7:00 am this morning, so we took no chances and booked an early Uber straight from our hotel to the airport. Traffic was incredibly light, and we rolled up to our terminal before 5:00 am! Since we were a bit too early to head straight to the gate, it turned out to be the perfect excuse to sit down and enjoy one last breakfast in Mexico City. We ended up stopping by Urban Corner Restaurant & Panaderia to fuel up for the long travel day ahead.

Two white ceramic mugs bearing 'The Urban Corner' logo, one filled with dark clear chamomile tea and the other with a frothy hot mocha morning drink.
Starting our travel morning right with a warm chamomile tea and a rich hot mocha.

To start things off, we grabbed some warm drinks to wake ourselves up. I ordered a soothing cup of chamomile tea, while hubby went for a classic, frothy hot mocha.

My Pick: Sincronizada Jamón y Queso ($197 MXN)

When it came to ordering food, I wanted to be extra cautious and choose something gentle to ensure I didn't trigger any stomach issues during our flight back. I ended up ordering the Sincronizada Jamón y Queso ($197), and it was exactly what I needed.

A square white plate filled with pressed sincronizada pieces arranged around fresh pico de gallo, accompanied by a small red bowl of guacamole topped with cotija cheese and a tortilla chip.
The Sincronizada Jamón y Queso—a clean, classic ham and gouda cheese quesadilla-style breakfast ($197 MXN).

It is a very straightforward, comforting ham and mild gouda cheese quesadilla-style sandwich. The flour tortillas were lightly toasted, and the melted cheese bound everything together beautifully. To add just a little extra hit of fresh flavour, I spread their creamy guacamole right on top. It was clean, simple, and incredibly satisfying without being too heavy for travel.

Hubby's Pick: Molletes 3 Quesos ($207 MXN)

Hubby decided to go a slightly richer route and ordered the Molletes 3 Quesos ($207). If you've never had a traditional Mexican mollete, it is essentially pure breakfast comfort food.

Four open-faced molletes toasted golden with a rich layer of refried beans and a thick blend of three melted cheeses, centered around a small black bowl of fresh salsa.
Pure cheesy bliss: the Molletes 3 Quesos featuring layers of savory beans and premium melted cheeses ($207 MXN).

This plate came out with crispy, open-faced bolillo bread slathered in a rich, savoury layer of refried beans, then piled incredibly high with a bubbly blend of three distinct melted cheeses. It was warm, hearty, and the ultimate way to say a proper culinary goodbye to the city.

Sipping our drinks and enjoying a quiet, unhurried breakfast was the absolute best way to calm those early morning travel jitters. Now, we are fully fueled up, packed, and officially ready to board our flight home!
