Hungry Jack's
Location: 17/19 Elizabeth St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia
Featured Items: Jacks Brekky Roll, Ham and Cheese Toastie, Hash Browns
Note: Hungry Jack's is the Australian name for Burger King. A handy breakfast option when many CBD cafes are closed or open late on weekends.
Verdict: The Jacks Brekky Roll is excellent, the toastie is a safe and satisfying choice, and the hash browns are good even if a little oily.
First day of vacation! We are going on a tour today and needed to fuel up. Most coffee shops and cafes around the CBD are closed on weekends or open late, so we had very few options near our hotel pickup. We gave Hungry Jack's (yes, the Burger King) a try for their breakfast menu.
Jacks Brekky Roll
Hubby got the Jacks Brekky Roll, and it is really excellent. BK's savoury sausage patties are delicious, and topped with fluffy eggs and just the perfect amount of sweet, smoky BBQ sauce between soft rolls, it is a great way to start the day.

Ham and Cheese Toastie
I went with the safer ham and cheese toastie. It is an amazing grilled cheese with salty ham, golden toasted bread and gloriously gooey, stretchy melted cheese. It is hard to mess this one up, so I understand why Aussies love it.

Hash Browns
We also got crispy hash browns. They were a little bit oily, but that is okay. They were still good and perfect with my tea.

Final Thoughts
Hungry Jack's turned out to be a handy, filling breakfast stop when we had very few options before our tour. The Jacks Brekky Roll was the winner for us, and the toastie was a reliable, cheesy backup.
