Verdict: The best food quality of our Melbourne café stops so far, and a comfy spot for an early start.
Happy Friday! We have been hitting coffee shops and cafés all around Melbourne, and today we stopped by Petit Corner because they open at 6:30 AM. Early risers, take note. Honestly, I think this one has the best food quality we have found so far, and it has more options than any of the other shops we have visited. The couches are so cozy and relaxing too, which makes it hard to leave.
The Coffee
We went with our usual drink order of a rich, chocolatey mocha and a smooth, velvety flat white. A large drink is $5.50.

The Food
This is where it gets interesting, because the food menu has so many tempting options. I ordered the Chilli Chicken Melt ($12.00). The melt includes tasty melted cheese (is that an Australian cheese?) and stretchy mozzarella between crisp, golden sourdough. Juicy chicken, fresh tomatoes and sharp red onions complete the sandwich, and it is topped with spicy chili flakes for a tiny bit of heat to round everything out.

Hubby went for the KBBQ Pulled Beef ($12.50). It is a tiny bit sweeter because of the sweet BBQ sauce, but otherwise it is so savoury with a bit of spice from the tangy kimchi. Tender, shredded beef, crunchy pickled radish and red onion are tucked inside the toasted bread, and the melted cheese stretches with every bite.

Final Thoughts
Between the 6:30 AM opening, the cozy couches and a food menu with so many choices, Petit Corner is easily one of our favourite stops on this trip so far. Both sandwiches were great value at $12 and $12.50, and I would happily go back to try more of the menu. Prices are in AUD.
