Nemesis Coffee GNW: Vancouver Brunch Menu, Prices, and Matcha Ube Latte

Walking toward Great Northern Way, the first thing that catches your breath isn't the aroma of roasting beans, but the architecture. Nestled right next to Emily Carr University, Nemesis Coffee GNW feels like a structural heartbeat for the arts district. With an exterior that mimics a blooming red flower, it’s a design-forward sanctuary that sets the stage for a truly smooch-worthy afternoon.

The architectural heartbeat of the Great Northern Way: Nemesis Coffee GNW’s striking "blooming red flower" design, nestled right next to Emily Carr University.

Stepping inside, the interior is just as sentimental. The soft light from the nearly-set sun diffuses through the "fins" of the ceiling, creating an intimate, breathing space. It’s the kind of room that makes you want to linger, documenting the ritual of the moment rather than just the caffeine. To God be the glory for such beautiful spaces to rest our souls.

The Heart: A Sip and a Swirl

"I opted for an unsweetened Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($8.00), which tasted remarkably fresh."

A moment of calm: My unsweetened Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, whisked to a vibrant green perfection.

"I opted for an unsweetened Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($8.00), which tasted remarkably fresh—perfect for keeping things grounded. For hubby, the Matcha Ube Latte ($8.00) was a vibrant, purple-and-green mystery. While he focused on the matcha notes, I found it delightfully sweet with that unmistakable ube fragrance."

The showstopper: Hubby's Matcha Ube Latte, where the earthy green tea meets the creamy, purple sweetness of ube.

The pastries were a tale of two textures. The Pesto Mozzarella Swirl was a bit stale, yet the pesto itself was so vibrant I found myself dreaming of it tossed in a warm bowl of pasta.

Vibrant flavours from Dope Bakehouse: The Pesto Mozzarella Swirl, featuring a pesto so fresh it deserves its own place in a pasta dish.

On the other hand, the Pull Apart was the ultimate comfort—soft, buttery, and generously filled with a savoury chive and cream cheese centre.

Drink Menu & Signature Selections

This was our first time stepping into the "blooming flower" of Nemesis GNW, and it certainly won't be our last. We came today because the buzz is undeniable—and it's now global. As of February 2026, The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops officially ranked Nemesis Coffee at #15 worldwide, making it the number one coffee shop in Canada.

A truly smooch-worthy spread: Capturing the ritual of a Saturday afternoon at Canada’s top-ranked coffee shop, where every sip and swirl tells a story.

Knowing that we were sipping lattes in a space recognized by over 800 international experts makes the experience feel even more sentimental. While we missed out on the iconic "Queen" this time, we are already planning our return to explore more from Dope Bakehouse (Nemesis’ own brilliant bakehouse). It’s a delicious, and truly smooch-worthy milestone for Vancouver’s coffee scene. To God be the glory for the chance to celebrate local excellence. See you at the next pour!
