Nashville Hot Chicken Benny: Eggspectation Richmond 2026 Menu Review

Happy Saturday. The drive into Richmond this morning was a dream: soft pink cherry blossoms lined the streets like nature’s own confetti. I headed straight to Eggspectation for a much-needed brunch, where my sister (who works there!) settled me into a cozy corner booth. It was the perfect "writer's sanctuary" to explore their new 2026 menu updates.

Having fasted since 9:30 PM the night before, I needed a reset. I started with the Green Light Smoothie ($9.00). The first sip is a sharp, ginger-forward kick that clears the morning fog, followed by the mellow sweetness of fresh apple.

The Main Event: Nashville Hot Chicken Benny

This is the undisputed star of the new menu. My sister has been raving about it, and she was right: the chicken has an incredible crispy and spicy shatter. At $22.00, it’s a fantastic value for the quality. It’s brushed with a bold Nashville spice oil that brings the heat, but the perfectly poached eggs act as a cooling equalizer. When that golden yolk breaks, it creates a creamy, spicy harmony that is pure comfort.

The "Potato Pivot"

Notice something different? If you’re a regular reader, you know I’ve always loved their Lyonnaise rounds. However, the menu has seen a "Potato Pivot." My plate arrived with thick, seasoned potato wedges. They are substantial, fluffy on the inside, and perfect for swiping up any extra hollandaise.

Is it Worth the Trip?

Absolutely. With vibrant new menu items like the Nashville Hot Benny and that same warm, community-focused atmosphere, Eggspectation remains a Richmond staple for a reason. Whether you're on a solo writing date or catching up with family, it's a "sweet escape" worth taking.

Eggspectation Checklist: What’s Still on the Menu?

I’ve been tracking my Eggspectation journey since 2020! Here is the updated status of everything I’ve tried based on the new 2026 menu updates.

✨ New for 2026 (Just Added!)

  • Nashville Hot Chicken Benny ($22.00): A spicy, crispy must-try. (Reviewed in this post!)
  • Green Light Smoothie ($9.00): A ginger-forward wellness win.

✅ Still Available (The Reliable Classics)

🔄 Rebranded or Updated

  • The "Potato Pivot": Most dishes now come with seasoned potato wedges (as seen in my photo!) or shredded hash browns rather than the traditional Lyonnaise rounds.
  • Fried Chicken 'N Waffles: Check the "Great Eggspectations" section for the new Fried Chicken and French Toast variation.

⚠️ Currently Unavailable / Special Request Only

  • Fried Chicken Benny: This specific version has been replaced by the Nashville Hot Chicken Benny. Pro-tip: you can likely ask your server for it without the spices to recreate the classic!
  • Classic Benedict & Montreal Benny: These two are no longer explicitly listed on the board, making way for new items like the Bene-Duck.
  • Bagel and Lox: While the Smoked Salmon Benny is a star, this specific platter is currently off the main board.

Plan Your Visit: Eggspectation Richmond

Whether you are taking a solo writing date like I did or bringing the whole family, here is what you need to know to get to this Richmond staple:

  • Address: 10551 St Edwards Dr, Richmond, BC V6X 3L8 (Located next to the Accent Inns Vancouver Airport).
  • By Transit: It is a short bus ride or a brisk walk from the Bridgeport SkyTrain Station. If you are coming from Vancouver, the Canada Line makes it incredibly accessible.
  • By Car/Rideshare: There is plenty of parking if you are driving. If you take a Lyft (like I did this morning!), the drive along the tree-lined streets of Richmond is especially gorgeous during cherry blossom season.
  • Pro-Tip: It can get busy on sunny Saturday mornings, so try to arrive before 10:00 AM if you want to snag one of those cozy "writer's sanctuary" booths!
