Happy Thursday! There is truly no better mid-week pick-me-up than a company-paid team lunch day. For this week's outing, we headed over to the stylish Yaletown location of Ignite Pizzeria to indulge in some serious comfort food.
I am already a massive fan of this spot and have tried three entirely different pizza varieties from them in the past. Because their kitchen never misses, I felt bold enough to venture out of my usual comfort zone and try something unique for this visit: the Montreal Smoked Meat Pizza.
The foundation of any great pie is the crust, and Ignite's signature dough is so excellent. It is wonderfully light and airy with just the right amount of chew. This particular creation comes loaded with a creamy blanket of gooey mozzarella, a generous scattering of intensely savoury Montreal smoked meat, spicy sliced jalapenos, and sweet caramelized onions. To finish it all off, they add a rich, decadent drizzle of silky truffle aioli that ties all the flavours together beautifully.

While this 10" personal size pizza normally retails for $18.00, we happened to be dining right after 2:00 pm. That meant we lucked into their amazing Happy Hour window, where these gourmet personal pies drop down to an absolute steal at just $14.00!
The balance of smoky meat, sweet onions, fiery peppers, and luxurious truffle cream on that perfect crust made for an unforgettable lunch. If you find yourself in Yaletown craving a slice, catching their afternoon Happy Hour is a total must!
