Thursdays have a way of dragging on, and by the time I finally wrap up a long day at work, my brain is fried and I am firmly on the hunt for cheap eats. When you need something quick, satisfying, and easy on the wallet, sometimes the grocery store is the best place to look.
That is how I ended up hovering by the bakery section at T&T Supermarket. They make a selection of grab-and-go sandwiches that normally retail for a very reasonable $5.99. However, if you time it right and catch them when they are approaching their expiry window, they slap on a discount sticker and drop the price to an absolute steal at $4.99!

| The superior choice: The beautifully layered Bacon Turkey Sandwich. |
For a grocery store clearance item, I was impressed. These are high-quality sandwiches made with wonderfully pillowy soft bread and packed with exceptionally crispy, fresh vegetables. There wasn't a hint of sogginess in sight, and I quite loved how refreshing they tasted after a tiring shift.
I picked up two different kinds to compare, and between the pair, the Bacon Turkey Sandwich was the clear winner. It simply offered a much better overall balance of savoury flavour and contrasting textures than the Montreal Corned Beef version. The turkey and bacon combo felt incredibly classic, satisfying, and bright alongside the crunchy greens.

| Decent, but lacking the same punch: The Montreal Corned Beef Sandwich |
Finding a fresh, satisfying meal for under five dollars these days feels like a minor miracle. I honestly cannot wait to go back and try some of their other sandwich varieties next time!
