🐟 Spot Review: Go Fish (1505 W 1st Ave, Vancouver)
| What We Tried: | 2-Piece Salmon Fish & Chips ($27.00), Grilled Tacones ($16.00 for two – Salmon & Ahi Tuna) |
| The Highs: | Perfect beer batter, fresh flaky salmon, addictive tartare sauce, and tender grilled ahi tuna tacones. |
| The Verdict: | A Vancouver waterfront gem and our brand new annual August anniversary tradition! |
Happy Tuesday! Hubby and I are celebrating one of our many anniversaries, and we decided that for our August anniversary, we will be enjoying delicious fish and chips at Go Fish every single year. We are starting this sweet tradition today, and hopefully, we can continue visiting for many years to come!
It’s been way too long since we last ate here (all the way back in 2022!)so this visit was definitely long overdue. To mark the occasion, I had to order my absolute favourite: the 2-Piece Salmon Fish & Chips ($27.00). It was just as excellent as I remembered. The beer batter is impossibly crisp, the salmon inside is wonderfully fresh and flaky, and it comes with that tangy vinegar-based slaw and a tartare sauce that I honestly want to put on everything.

We also decided to give their Tacones ($16.00 for 2) a try! Haha, full disclosure: I pronounced it as "taco-nes" in my head, but apparently it's pronounced "ta-cones"! While the standard menu listing mentions salmon, we were pleasantly surprised when they offered us the option for ahi tuna. Naturally, we asked for one of each so we could compare!

| Our pair of Tacones: one grilled salmon and one grilled ahi tuna. |
Each soft flour tortilla cone is generously filled with their signature crunchy slaw, a light drizzle of sauce, and perfectly grilled seafood. Between the two, I actually preferred the ahi tuna, and hubby sweet as always made sure I got to enjoy it!

So far over our visits, we’ve tried their Tacones, the 2-Piece Salmon Fish & Chips, and their Salmon Burger. To say that salmon is my favourite fish would be a huge understatement! I already can't wait to come back next August to revisit their burgers and possibly give the halibut or cod a try.
