P.F. Chang’s LAX Tom Bradley Terminal Review: Wonton Soup & Immunity Shots

P.F. Chang's, LAX Tom Bradley Terminal

Location: Second-floor mezzanine above the food court area, Tom Bradley International Terminal, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Featured Items: Wonton Soup ($17.50 USD), Immunity Ginger & Turmeric Blend Shots (2 for $11.80 USD)

Seating: Plenty of seating with TVs, so it's a comfortable spot to wait for your flight.

Verdict: Not the plain, clear broth I expected. A savoury, soy-forward soup loaded with shrimp, and the tender peppery chicken at the bottom is the highlight. The ginger and turmeric shot packs a fiery punch, so keep water handy.

Okay, I could feel my throat starting to itch, so hubby and I walked around LAX Tom Bradley Terminal looking for a juice or booster shot, and couldn't find one. We were also curious what the P.F. Chang's on the second floor looked like. I hadn't seen their menu, so hubby pointed out a kiosk and suggested we check it.

That's when he noticed their display case had bottles of Immunity Ginger & Turmeric Blend shots. Yay, exactly what we needed! I also checked the menu to see which soups were available, and woot woot, they have wonton soup.

P.F. Chang's sits on the second floor, a mezzanine overlooking the food court area, with lots of seating and TVs. We're also catching Game 4 of the LA Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers while we wait for our flight.

I ordered a bowl of wonton soup ($17.50) and shared it with hubby. It's not as plain or bland as I expected. Wonton soup, for me, means a clear broth, but this one is a deeper, savoury broth with quite a bit of soy sauce, possibly fish sauce too. It's delicious, and loaded with plump shrimp (8 pieces, yes, we counted) and 6 pieces of tender wonton, which were okay.

The real highlight, though, is at the bottom of the bowl: tender, flavourful pieces of chicken covered in peppers. I didn't expect that, and it made the whole soup.

As for the Immunity Ginger & Turmeric Blend shots (two for $11.80), they do not mess around. It's a fiery, throat-grabbing ginger kick that burns all the way down in the most painful way, followed by a warm, earthy turmeric finish. It's definitely not a gentle sipper. I would happily take another one, though next time I'll have a big glass of cold water ready to chase it.

I'm now full, happy, and ready for a nap, with two more hours until our flight to Melbourne!

Have you tried the Immunity Ginger & Turmeric shots, or do you have a go-to airport soup? Let me know in the comments!
