Happy Thursday which means Costco day after work. After a long day and a quick dinner at nearby T&T, we head to Costco on Expo Blvd in Downtown Vancouver. Hubby requested that we try the new Caramel Brownie Sundae so I could blog about it. It’s a great excuse, even though I’m well aware he just really wanted a sweet treat!
The Heat Factor
When the plastic cup was handed over, the first thing I noticed was that it was actually hot. Not just lukewarm—the caramel is definitely served hot, which creates a really distinct contrast with the soft serve.

| The first look at the new Caramel Brownie Sundae. It’s a generous portion, and you can see that hot caramel already starting to work its magic on the soft serve. |
If you’ve had their vanilla soft serve before, you know it’s a solid base. The heat from the caramel melts the ice cream just enough to create a gooey sauce, but surprisingly, the brownie chunks stay firm. You still get that nice, chewy texture instead of them turning into mush in the heat.

The Verdict
The pairing works well if you're looking for something decadent, but to be honest, I don't think the caramel and brownie are quite for me. It’s a fun launch, but I’ll be sticking with my usual chocolate sundae next time. Sometimes the classics are just hard to beat!
