After our breakfast at K Cafe and treats at Small Victory, we went home and rested up for the afternoon. By the time dinner rolled around, we kept things incredibly casual—we just stepped outside in our flip-flops and hoodies to head over to our nearby Tractor.

Hubby ordered the Braised Beef Hot Bowl ($16). For some reason, it just tasted remarkably healthy. It felt a little bit watered down to me, but it was still a good, comforting choice for a relaxed evening.

I went with my absolute favourite: the full Avocado + Chicken Sandwich ($15.50), simply because I can never say no to the combination of chicken and avocado. To make it a meal, I paired it with a cup of their Red Lentil + Green Soup as a side add-on for $4.25 (it’s $6.75 if you want to upgrade to a full bowl).

While the soup kept me warm and satisfied, I am still sitting on the fence about whether I would order it again. I am entirely unsure what it was, but something about the flavour profile was just slightly putting me off.

Even with a mysterious soup, it is hard to beat the convenience of having a spot like Tractor down the street when you want a wholesome meal without the effort of cooking.

It's funny looking back at how often Tractor weaves into our days. It has been a neighborhood staple for us for years—whether we're grabbing a comforting turkey sandwich dinner back in 2018, a quick winter squash soup lunch, or upgrading our breakfast routine with their loaded sourdough avocado toast. I even realized I ordered this exact same avocado chicken sandwich combo in 2024 before a hectic Costco run! Some cravings just never change.
