Pane Formaggio Yaletown Review: The Perfect Unexpected Lunch Date

It was a bright Sunday morning, and hubby and I found ourselves heading over to the local urgent care clinic in Yaletown. We needed the medical team to take a closer look at a stubborn wound that hasn't completely healed up since an ER visit last April. The wait time turned out to be quite long, but the wonderful staff kindly asked if we would prefer to head out and receive a phone notification when our turn finally came up.

Since we had not eaten a single thing yet, we happily agreed to the plan! We enjoyed a casual walk around the neighbourhood and decided to step into Pane Formaggio for a quick bite. I ordered their Classic Turkey Sandwich ($11.29), which came served between thick slices of tart cranberry sourdough bread. I absolutely love the bright pop of fruity sweetness that the dried cranberry provides! The sandwich was loaded with fresh veggies and melty cheese.

Hubby decided to go for the Chicken Chipotle Sandwich ($11.29), which featured a soft focaccia bread base. It looked incredible, but after taking our first bites, we actually ended up switching plates because I preferred his flavour profile and he preferred my turkey sandwich, haha! I was completely in love with the combination of tender chicken, creamy avocado, sharp cheddar, smoky chipotle sauce, juicy tomatoes, and crisp lettuce.

To wash everything down, I sipped on a rich mocha drink while hubby opted for a sweet vanilla latte drink. While we were relaxing and enjoying our lunch, we also pulled up the exciting Canada soccer match versus South Africa. Canada managed to pull out a stellar 1-nil victory. Woot! It turned out to be the perfect little distraction before heading back to the clinic.
