Charisma Social Club House Review: Late Night Sandwiches in Vancouver

🥪 Late Night Sandwich Fix: Charisma Social Club House

📍 Location: Charisma Social Club House (197 Keefer Pl, Vancouver)
🥪 Food Ordered: Charisma Clubhouse ($22.00) & Lobster Grilled Cheese ($22.00)
🍟 Sides Added: Curly Fries & Onion Rings

I am fully going through a sandwich phase right now! I have absolutely no idea what triggered it, but all I want lately are excellent, comforting sandwiches.

This past week, after surviving a typically long and exhausting Wednesday at work, I was completely famished and desperately needed some dinner before our planned Costco run. Because it was on the later side (after 7:30 PM), most of my usual go-to cafés, coffee shops, and local bakeries were already locked up for the evening. Hubby and I originally figured we would just pop into T&T to grab something quick and easy from their deli fridge.

But as we were making our way over, a sidewalk stand caught our eye. Following the sign, we noticed a spot called Charisma Social Club House tucked away on Keefer Place. Stepping inside, the space was entirely empty, which felt a bit unfortunate because the interior layout is actually quite spacious, much larger than it appears from the outside.

I decided to order the namesake Charisma Clubhouse ($22.00), and Hubby opted for the Lobster Grilled Cheese ($22.00), adding sides of curly fries and onion rings to share.

Now, I have to be completely candid: the wait time was bordering on unacceptable. It took nearly an hour for our food to hit the table, which tested my patience since I was starving. But thankfully, the kitchen redeemed themselves because the food was genuinely great.

My clubhouse arrived beautifully stacked with so many delicious layers, and the curly fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy.

Hubby’s lobster grilled cheese was equally impressive. They did not skimp on the seafood at all, it was packed with incredibly generous pieces of tender lobster tucked into thick, perfectly toasted bread alongside a side of golden onion rings.

Overall, I am really glad we stumbled upon this place and gave it a shot. The flavours are definitely there, so I would absolutely return, though I will likely call and order ahead next time to bypass that lengthy kitchen wait.

Plus, there is another major reason I need to go back. As we were paying at the counter, their moving digital menu screen flashed an image of a Yakult Green Apple Milk Tea. Oh, the nostalgia! It instantly took me back to my time in the Philippines, where that exact flavour combination was my ultimate go-to treat from Serenitea. Talk about good times! It is incredibly rare to find that particular flavour profile on bubble tea menus around Metro Vancouver, so you can bet I will be heading back soon just to grab a cup.
