Happy Thursday! I do not know about you, but it has been a week. Wednesday was an exceptionally long day for me, I had a meeting with a user that kept me at the office until 8:00 PM. Then, to keep things interesting, I was right back at it this morning at 8:00 AM to catch up with our team in Europe. We did a brief, super fun Harry Potter-themed quiz (which was exactly the kind of mid-week joy I needed!), but after wrapping up the meeting and wading through a mountain of Slack messages, my brain was calling for a timeout.
I decided to step completely away from my desk to hunt down a proper, quiet, nice breakfast. There are so many coffee shops scattered around this neighbourhood, but today I found myself wandering over to lovelarte. It's tucked right along Robson Street, right on the perimeter of the Vancouver Public Library Central centre location.

I ended up ordering a comforting 16 oz mocha ($7.25) and my favourite go-to, the Spinach & Egg English Muffin ($10.25). If you want a quick mental picture, imagine a significantly healthier, fresher version of a classic fast-food McMuffin minus the heavy sausage or bacon. It's built with a beautifully fluffy egg patty, vibrant fresh baby spinach, perfectly melted cheddar cheese, and just a tiny slick of mayo to hold it all together on a perfectly toasted, griddled English muffin.

Instead of rushing back, I took my plate outside to their patio and just sat there for about ten minutes. I watched the golden morning light filter across the city and focused on just breathing. Honestly, thank God for small, quiet moments like this. It was exactly the kind of mental reset I needed to clear the noise, slow down, and make sure I can keep showing up and performing at a high level for the rest of the day.

If you ever find yourself near the central library downtown and need a pocket of peace (and a great breakfast sandwich), definitely give Lovelarte a look. It is quickly becoming one of my frequent stops!
