Pho Khanh Express Review: Best Rainy Day Comfort Food in Vancouver

🍜 Rainy Day Comforts: Pho Khanh Express

📍 Location: Pho Khanh Express
🥣 The Orders: Specialty Loaded Pho & Rich Beef Stew ($19.95 each)
✨ The Vibe: The ultimate remedy for a sudden Vancouver downpour.

It suddenly started pouring rain today, completely catching us off guard. As the grey clouds rolled in, I turned to Hubby to see what he was craving for a cozy dinner, and his immediate answer was a steaming bowl of pho. I knew exactly where we should head to escape the damp weather: Pho Khanh Express.

Hubby went all out and ordered a massive, large steak, brisket, tendon, and triple rice noodle in soup ($19.95). The aromatic broth has that beautiful, subtle sweetness that makes authentic Vietnamese soup so incredibly comforting on a chilly evening. It came packed to the brim with slippery rice noodles and plenty of savoury meats.

The ultimate comforting bowl of loaded pho.

While he happily slurped down his noodle soup, I happily opted for my usual order: the fragrant beef stew with steamed rice ($19.95). This dish absolutely hits the spot every single time. The glossy stew sauce is incredibly rich and full of deeply developed flavour, and the chunky beef pieces are simmered until they are flawlessly tender. I absolutely love it.

There is really nothing quite like pairing a rainy Vancouver evening with a hot, comforting meal to make you feel instantly warm inside.
