Verdict: A comforting bowl for a scratchy throat. The pork shio ramen and the okonomiyaki were the highlights for me.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I have been coughing and my throat has been itchy, so soup was needed. We decided to grab an early lunch at Little Ramen Bar in Melbourne because this is where the team goes for team lunch when the theme is ramen.
Medium Spicy Miso Ramen ($20.90)
I went with my usual medium spicy miso ramen ($20.90) and it was good. It is not any better than what we can get in Vancouver, but good enough. I quite like the chewy, springy noodles in the creamy, spicy broth.

I found the sweet carrots and crunchy cabbage a bit odd, though. I am unsure if I have seen both in a Japanese ramen before.

Pork Shio Ramen ($19.90)
Hubby went with the pork shio ramen ($19.90), which has a comforting, clear salt-based broth topped with tender chashu pork, crunchy bean sprouts, earthy wood ear mushrooms and a sheet of crisp nori. I thought it was better than mine.

Okonomiyaki ($12.90)
To share, we also got the okonomiyaki ($12.90), which was amazing. This golden, pan-seared Japanese savoury pancake is drizzled with sweet okonomi sauce and creamy Japanese mayo, then topped with delicate bonito flakes and fresh green onion. Since it is sweet, it was the perfect balance to my spicy, savoury ramen.

Final Thoughts
A warm bowl of ramen was exactly what my scratchy throat needed on our last day in Melbourne. Little Ramen Bar is a solid, comforting choice, and I can see why the team picks it for ramen-themed lunches. Prices are in AUD.
