Tim Hortons Maple Brown Butter Scrambled Egg Loaded Croissant Review (The Double Stack!)

Happy Sunday morning! As part of our routine, we grabbed breakfast at Tim Hortons. However, today is a little bit different, since I noticed in the app that they are promoting two new breakfast sandwiches: Scrambled Egg Loaded Croissant and a version with maple brown butter sauce. I ordered both sandwiches: double stacked, meaning it has both bacon and sausage.

What exactly is Tim Hortons Maple Brown Butter?

If you're curious about the flavour, it’s a sweet, caramelized glaze that mimics the "maple dip" vibe but with a richer, buttery finish. It’s designed to balance out the savory elements like the sausage and bacon. If you enjoy a sweet-and-savory breakfast (like a McGriddle), this sauce is the highlight of the loaded menu.

The Scrambled Egg Loaded Croissant, even without maple brown butter, was delicious. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed a slightly crispy croissant with a chewy interior. Meanwhile, the maple brown butter sauce provided a sweetness to the savoury dish.

One thing to note when ordering: in the Tim Hortons app, these are often listed as the "Scrambled Egg Loaded Box." I highly recommend going for the Double Stacked version. Adding both bacon and sausage makes the croissant much more substantial and helps the maple brown butter sauce shine against the extra savoury protein.

I loved both and will order them again if they are offered with a discount in our offers.

Not a fan of croissants? I also tried the wrap version of this breakfast! You can check out my full review of the Maple Brown Butter Scrambled Egg Loaded Wrap here to see how it compares to the Farmer's Wrap.
