⭐ Smooch Verdict: A charming, upscale surprise on West Broadway with a warm neighbourhood feel. While the seafood linguine was generous but under-seasoned, the rich and cheesy baked tortellini was an absolute standout!

Happy Saturday! After a wonderful, productive morning blogging away at Elysian Coffee, our appetites finally caught up with us. We needed a spot for lunch right away, so I quickly pulled up Google Maps to see what was closest to us and open at that exact moment. One of the nearby spots that popped up on the list was Italia Bella on West Broadway. Walking in, it turned out to be a bit fancier than we originally expected, with a lovely upscale ambiance and prices ranging from $20 to $40 per meal.

I decided on the Linguine Pescatore ($29.95), which is served in a classic white wine sauce. When it arrived, it was definitely incredibly generous with the seafood portions. However, the base sauce itself was a bit bland and really needed some salt to make the flavours pop. Thankfully, our wonderfully friendly server had already placed parmesan cheese and dried chili flakes right on our table. Adding a bit of both completely saved the day, giving the pasta the exact kick and savoury depth it needed to be a much better dish!

Hubby went with the Baked Beef Tortellini ($26.95), and it was absolutely delicious. It arrived at the table beautifully creamy, rich, and completely blanketed under a thick layer of perfectly melted cheese. If you love a hearty, decadent baked pasta, this one is a total winner.

Overall, it was a very pleasant weekend lunch discovery. Now that we know the vibe of the place, I already cannot wait to come back next time and try their carbonara, which comes highly recommended on Google Maps!
