Happy Sunday morning! I hope you are having a beautiful, restful weekend. This morning, my husband and I headed out for Sunday Mass at St. Patrick's, but we decided to slip out just a little bit early to grab a quick, cozy morning bite at 49th Parallel Cafe & Lucky's Doughnuts.
There is something comforting about walking into a cafe on a quiet morning. My husband opted for a warm, sweet hug in a mug with their Salted Caramel Maple Hot Latte, while I went a bit more traditional, ordering a rich, classic Mocha to kickstart my day.

We originally had our hearts set on their savoury breakfast sandwiches, but we arrived a bit early and they were not quite ready yet. Looking for a delicious alternative, we decided to explore their pastry display and ordered a couple of their house-made scones instead.
We picked up a classic, speckled Cheddar and Chive Scone along with a vibrant, flavourful Sun-Dried Tomato Scone. Flavour wise, these were absolutely top notch and packed with real, distinct ingredients.

If I am being completely honest about the texture, they did not quite have that soft, buttery moisture I typically look for in a world class scone. They were just a tiny bit on the dry side.
Will I have them again? Yes, absolutely! The rich flavours completely made up for it, and the cafe is so incredibly close to the church. It turned out to be a highly satisfying, convenient, and cozy pre-Mass ritual.
