🍜 JINYA Taste Test: Tan Tan Ramen
| 📍 Venue: | JINYA Ramen Bar |
| 🍜 Dish Ordered: | Tan Tan Ramen ($22.60) |
| ✨ The Broth: | Chicken soy broth with sesame essence & chili oil |
| 💥 The Verdict: | A bit too salty this time around |
It's Thursday, and you know exactly what that means: company-paid team lunch! The theme for this week's outing was comforting ramen. Thankfully, the sweltering weather we had recently (which shot up well above 25°C) dropped right back down to a crisp 16°C. It created the perfect weather for a hot, steaming bowl of soup.
Naturally, we headed straight over to our trusted team go-to spot, JINYA Ramen Bar. While I usually have my favourites here, I decided to shake things up this time and ordered their Tan Tan Ramen ($22.60).

According to the menu, the Tan Tan Men features a savoury chicken soy broth enhanced with a rich sesame essence. It comes piled with tender pork soboro, fresh baby bok choy, and a vibrant crown of shredded leek, all complemented by a touch of chili sesame seeds, a generous drizzle of chili oil, and thick, chewy noodles.
Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the spot for me the way the spectacular Cha Cha Cha did a few weeks back. I ended up finding the broth just a little bit too salty. It was honestly a bit of a bummer because I am someone who consistently orders dan dan noodles whenever they are available at Chinese restaurants, and while I know they are technically different dishes, they feel like close culinary cousins!
