🍹 Drinks Ordered: Pineapple Fruit Tea ($7.95 from Hui Lau Shan)

We had absolutely no idea where to head for dinner this evening, so we finally referred back to our trusty Hubby's checklist! For those who might remember, it is a running list of food spots in the city that I have already tried but he has not.

That is exactly how we ended up navigating our way over to Club Kitchen. The main mission was for him to finally cross off and try the Al Pastor Tacos from El Compadre ($22.99). Of course, because it is a ghost kitchen concept with so many vendors under one roof, we could not resist ordering a few extra treats to round out the meal, including a bowl of peri-peri fries from Betty's Burgers and a Turkey & Swiss Baguette Sandwich ($11.40) from Trees Organic Coffee (yes, the exact same one I just tried last Sunday!).

I had high hopes, but unfortunately, the pastor tacos were not quite as good as I remembered them. I suspect they might have stopped using freshly made corn tortillas, or perhaps they switched up their supplier brands entirely. Even the overall recipe seems to have shifted slightly. Honestly, if you are looking for that authentic flavor, Taqueria Chicatana is still much closer to the real-deal street tacos you would get right in Mexico City.

As for the Trees sandwich, it surprisingly wasn't served on a classic French baguette this time. Instead, it came on pressed ciabatta bread, which is probably why they had it discounted by 20% on the app, haha! No complaints though, it was still thoroughly delicious, warm, and satisfying.

The absolute sleeper hit of the night was definitely the Peri-Peri Fries ($8.99) from Betty's Burgers. Wow, they were incredibly spicy, piping hot, and full of kick! Genuinely so, so good that I could not stop reaching into the bowl for more.

To wash down all that heat, Hubby also picked up a refreshing Pineapple Fruit Tea ($7.95) from Hui Lau Shan. It made for the perfect sweet counter-balance to the fiery fries.

Honestly, this spot is just so much fun when you are dealing with mixed cravings and simply do not want to go through the hassle of visiting multiple different storefronts before running your evening errands. We left full and happy!
