Third time at the Vancouver Christmas Market 2023

Since it's a clear evening with no rain in the forecast, my husband suggested we go to the Vancouver Christmas Market. After work, we thought of walking to Jack Poole Plaza, but it's so cold. I couldn't feel my face, so we stopped at the south side of Burrard Bridge to catch Bus 2 on Cornwall.

I'm still reviewing the list of food items we have yet to try, which you can check here.

Roasted Tomato Soup from Das Soup Haus

Since I am super cold, we went to Das Soup Haus and noticed they had added a Ham & Cheese Croissant to their menu. I paired it with the Roasted Tomato Soup. Of course, the soup is not burning hot. It's warm enough for this evening. Be sure to devour it because it will get cold fast.

Meanwhile, the Ham & Cheese Croissant is perfect for dipping in the tarty soup.

Vogue Cakes Bakery

Afterwards, we went to Vague Cakes Bakery. Have they always been here?! I don't remember; this is my third time at the Vancouver Christmas Market. We decided on the Schnecken Sticky Pecan Rolls out of the few sweets they offer. It's perfect for this evening! It's a warm cinnamon roll topped with pecans. Surprisingly, it is not overly sweet.

Currywurst and Cheesy Bacon Twist from Bratwurst Haus

Going through the long list of German sausages available at Bratwurst, I went for the Currywurst while hubby got the Cheesy Bacon Twist.

The Currywurst has bite-sized chunks of my favourite thuringer brat and it is drowning in a curry-based sauce which means a bit of spiciness and tart from the ketchup. I love it. However, I still prefer the Thuringer brat.

The cheesy bacon twist is the Bavarian Smokie we tried last week, wrapped in delicious crispy bacon. If you love bacon, this is perfect. The sauerkraut also helped with the fattiness of the sausage.

Black Forest Cake from Das Strudel Haus

After a savoury and saucy currywurst, I crave something sweet, so I went for the Black Forest Cake from Das Strudel Haus. It has a soft and moist chocolate cake based with tarty cherry compote in the middle and generous whipped cream on top.

It's the perfect ending for our food night at the Vancouver Christmas Market.
