I love lazy weekends with no errands in sight. After a relaxing brunch at home, I decided to find a new coffee shop to be productive and finally write some blog posts.
Yar Café popped up on West Broadway, right near the old Toys R' Us location. I caught them during their soft opening phase, and as usual, I ordered too much to get the full experience.

A Mix of Flavours
My 8 oz Mocha was on the bitter side, which I paired with a Pistachio Kunafa Croissant. The croissant was packed with sweet, crunchy kunafa pastry soaked in syrup. It was visually stunning, though the pastry itself felt a bit stale during my visit. I suspect a quick reheat would have made a world of difference.

Hubby joined me later and we tried the Iced Persian Latte. It was beautiful, strong, and bitter—exactly what you need for a late afternoon jolt. We also shared the Beef Sandwich. Packed with sliced beef, house sauce, arugula, and cheese, it was a solid, satisfying lunch choice.

The Tiramisu Danish was the only real disappointment, as the pastry was quite stale again. However, the drinks here are truly unique and well worth the visit.

Verdict
My smooch-worthy recommendation? Go for the drinks. The Persian-inspired coffee is a treat for anyone looking for something beyond a standard latte. While the food freshness was a bit hit-or-miss during the soft opening, the atmosphere and unique flavours make it a gem worth discovering on West Broadway.
