⭐ Smooch Verdict: A hidden gem for late-night cravings, offering the perfect match of great coffee and comforting burgers.

Since our dinner at Odd Burger left me feeling a little unsatisfied, I needed a quick pick-me-up to save the night. I started searching for a cozy coffee shop that was still open late on a Saturday evening, and that is how we stumbled upon Blaze Cafe, which is actually tucked right inside Blaze Burger. It is a bit of an unusual setup because the space serves up both espresso drinks and juicy burgers, but somehow, they manage to do both excellently!

I already love their burgers, but their unsweetened matcha latte with oat milk ($6.99) is a real standout. It has absolutely no harsh bitterness, yet it does not taste watered down at all. It is easily the best matcha latte close to home.

Hubby decided to try the iced strawberry matcha latte ($7.60), but we both agreed it fell a bit flat. To be honest, the version we tried over at Cafe & Life Co. was so much better. This one just tasted a little too tart, and the strawberry flavour felt a bit artificial.

The layered Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($7.60) looked lovely, but the flavour profile missed the mark for us.

To turn things around, we paired our drinks with a slice of their Basque cheesecake ($8.50). It was incredibly good! It was not overly sweet, which was perfect because it allowed the rich, earthy notes of my matcha latte to stand out even more.
