| ⭐ Smooch Verdict: | The perfect, reliable neighborhood spot for those nights when you simply want a comforting, effortless dinner. Massive portions, great variety, and always satisfying. |
Happy weekend! Do you ever have those nights where you stand in front of the fridge, look at your ingredients, and realize you are just completely too lazy to cook? That was exactly us this evening. Deciding to take it easy, we headed out to Mr. Sushi for a meal that required absolutely zero cleanup.
To start things off, we decided to share a 10-piece order of the Veggie Tempura ($19.00). It arrived piled high in a skillet dish, featuring perfectly circular slices of sweet potato and tender pieces of squash. The batter was light, incredibly crisp, and not overly oily, making it a wonderful starter to crunch on while waiting for our mains.

Hubby chose the Beef Teriyaki Bento Box ($19.50) for his dinner. It was packed to the brim with all the classics. It came with a mountain of savoury beef teriyaki over rice, alongside a classic California roll, crisp prawn and vegetable tempura, a single fried gyoza, and a fresh garden salad. It is honestly one of the best value options if you love having a little bit of everything.

| The ultimate variety: The hefty Beef Teriyaki Bento Box. |
I opted for the Beef Yakisoba ($17.25), which came out as a massive, steaming mountain of stir-fried noodles. It was loaded with tender beef slices, plenty of crunchy bean sprouts, and cabbage, all tossed in a savoury, slightly sweet yakisoba sauce and topped with green onions and sesame seeds. The portion size was absolutely huge, so I ended up eating about half of it and packing away the rest for an easy breakfast tomorrow!
