It's amusing how quickly summer disappears in Vancouver. One moment you're planning the season, and the next thing you know, it's September and you're scrambling to catch all those last-minute adventures.
🔬 Quick Bites at Science World

This past weekend, hubby and I realized that the FIFA Museum exhibit at Science World was closing its doors for good, so we made an impromptu dash over to explore all the interactive exhibits one last time. After a couple of hours of wandering through football technology and trying our hand at various eureka activities, we were famished. Thankfully, Science World has some food options right on site, plus there are plenty of quick eats within a leisurely 250-metre walk if you want something different.

Snack Lab (Inside Science World, Second Floor)
Located on the second floor, Snack Lab is your go-to spot for quick bites without having to leave the building. They've got a bright, energy-filled vibe that matches the whole Science World experience. During the summer season, they're open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with extended hours (10:30 AM to 7:30 PM) on Twilight Tuesdays, so you can grab a snack during your evening visit too.

Pop & Sip Combo
This is the signature deal: fresh, buttery popcorn paired with a cold drink for $6.75 plus tax. You can upgrade your drink to a hot option for just $0.50 extra, which is a nice touch if the weather turns chilly. It's the kind of snack that makes total sense when you're wandering around exhibits all day.
Frozen Treats
On a warm day, the frozen section is where the magic happens. They carry nostalgic popsicles (Cyclone, SpongeBob, Spiderman) at $4.50 plus tax, Klondike ice cream sandwiches in Oreo and Vanilla flavours for $6.00 plus tax, and a solid selection of premium bars:
- Magnum Bars ($7.25 plus tax): Classic Chocolate, Almond, Strawberry
- Maxfrut Bars ($4.50 plus tax): Strawberry, Lime, Raspberry, Watermelon, Mango (note: Mango and Blueberry were sold out on our visit)

If you're in the mood for something more substantial, Triple O's is right there inside Science World. The beauty of this location is that they have a dedicated walk-thru window, so even if you're just passing by the seawall, you can pop in for a delicious milkshake or burger without needing to enter the museum itself. Tim Hortons & A&W (Under Sky Train Station, Terminal Avenue)
Both sit right under the Sky Train station in a grab-and-go format, perfect if you want something quick and don't need to sit down. This spot is ideal if you're planning a picnic in one of the nearby parks around Science World. A&W especially delivers excellent quality ingredients at fast food prices, so you're getting solid value. These are standing-only locations, but the proximity to the parks makes it easy to grab food and find a scenic spot to enjoy it.
McDonald's (Main Street)
If you need a proper sit-down meal with a break from walking, McDonald's on Main Street is the closest full-service option with actual seating. Just a heads up: the play area is no longer in use, and the location does see a higher volume of foot traffic from the surrounding neighbourhood, so you might want to skip the washroom if possible and plan ahead.
All in all, Science World gives you solid food options whether you want to stay inside and munch between exhibits or grab something quick to enjoy on the seawall. The Snack Lab has enough variety to keep most people happy for snacks and frozen treats, Triple O's handles your burger cravings beautifully, and the nearby grab-and-go spots give you flexibility if you're planning a park picnic.
