The Cheese Steak Shop

The Cheese Steak Shop located in Arnaiz (formerly Pasay Road) in Makati is having a promo a buy one take one for all it's 7" sandwiches this November 22 to 24. With that, Jomar and I tried the following:

Premium Cheese Steaks with Bacon (P320)

Premium Cheese Steaks with Pepperoni (P320)

Large Fries (P150 with any soda)

Comments:
1. They had real slow service. Maybe because they're new or something but it took them sometime to give us our food (or maybe we're just hungry impatient bunch during that time).
2. They give us incomplete orders. I received my drinks last and I need to demand for it together with my fries (maybe they still need to improve their overall process inside the kitchen).
3. The sandwiches itself wasn't that great. Maybe I expected more cheese and better tasting beef in my sandwich.
4. I liked their fries though. :)
5. The buffalo wings is okay but not something I would return to (I would prefer Buffalo Wings and Things any given day).

I guess that's it. Will I be coming back for more? Maybe after a few months when improvements or something happen.

Hap Chan Tea House

It seems that our family loved Chinese food. One of our fave restaurants in terms of Chinese food is Hap Chan Tea House. The Congressional Branch is definitely the closest in our house. If you want to try Chinese food better check out Hap Chan Tea House.

World Chicken

World Chicken offers quite a unique dining experience where you could Create Your Own Platter. Check the link for a complete list of their menu.

For this dining, I had Two Sidings of Asian Noodle and Tuna Fettuccine and Gravy as the sauce. The branch I frequently visit is the one in Greenbelt 1, Makati.

ToSh: The Old Spaghetti House

The Old Spaghetti House is no doubt my fave place to get yummy pasta. I have tried their branches in Valero, Makati and UP Ayala Technohub, Quezon City.

I am in love with their Pasta Meal, Golden Crusted Chicken, Ham and Cheese Crepe with Angel Hair Pomodoro (P180)

To try something different Jomar had Oriental Spaghetti (P120) which is actually pretty nice. It tastes like Asian Noodle Pasta.

For dessert we had Golden Oreo Cookie ala Mode which is the exact replica of Wicked Oreo from Flaming Wings.

I will definitely be coming back for more!

House of Sisig

Sisig seems to be one of the usual company of beer or alcohol in the Philippines. Its history and origin seem to point in the province of Pampanga, but the taste, style, and ingredients vary everywhere. I would like to share with you my first-time experience in the House of Sisig in City Mall Philcoa in Quezon City (along Commonwealth Avenue).

Since I love sisig, I have tried many variations from different sources. From the Makati-famous Sisig Rada JolliJeep to Gilligans Restaurant, sisig is available almost everywhere at various price points. The sisig from House of Sisig offers a variety of sisig (original, tuna, chicken, beef, seafood, spicy squid, bangus, and crab). All sisig is available at (P105) with rice plus P10 for the extra egg. Boyfriend and I had their uniquely called SOMA (South of Manila) and NOMA (North of Manila) Sisig.

It's not the best sisig I have tried but tasty enough for sisig lovers like myself. For the look of the place, I fell in love with the wall with map wallpapers.

NoMa (North of Manila) Sisig Solo (P115 with Egg) (served with Mayonnaise)

SoMa (South of Manila) Sisig Solo (P115 with egg) (served with vinegar and chilis)

To end our meal, we had their chocolate mousse, which is quite pleasant after the spicy meal.

Chocolate Mousse (P58)

The House of Sisig accepts cash payments only and is open daily from 10am to 10pm daily. You could contact them thru this number 4071964.

The Krispy Kreme Experience

Ever since the boyfriend and I started dating, we would always have dessert every after a meal. So in one of our dessert meals, we had doughnuts in Krispy Kreme Ayala Ave. I had my fave Chocolate Kreme Cake with Oreo while Jomar had Chocolate Iced Kitkat filled doughnut. Well, mine is better. For more Krispy Kreme goodness please visit their website.

O' Mai Khan

Last December 2010, our team decided to have a vacation in the City of Pines. We had dinner in one of the best Mongolian restaurants I have tried EVER. O' Mai Khan. The place was cozy and warm as compared to the temperature outside. They served a Mongolian buffet for P160 to P180 (that time). I fell in love with their dessert which was baked just right. I forgot the name of the food I ordered but I know it was delicious. When I go back to Baguio, I will definitely go back to O' Mai Khan.

Ilustrado

After years of anticipation and curiosity, I finally found the time to try out the Sampaguita Ice Cream of Ilustrado in Intramuros. It actually tasted how the Sampaguita flower smells. It was kind of weird at first, but after a few more bite, the Sampaguita taste decreased. Definitely a-must-try for the curious and adventurous. Enjoy! To know more about Ilustrado visit their website: http://www.ilustradorestaurant.com.ph/

Pancake House

It seems that I visited Pancake House more than a few times and took pictures of my meal. I love the Pancake House ever since high school. I would even remember having a bottomless iced tea drinking contest with Abbi. Although it is quite expensive, I just love their food. :) Here are some of the pictures I took of my meal and their corresponding price.

Zark's Burger

Last July 3, 2011, I watched the Azkals vs Sri Lanka Game in the Rizal Memorial Auditorium. After the game, my sister, her friend, the boyfriend, and I had dinner in one of the "only in Taft" food chain, Zark's Burger. They have amazingly big servings plus yummy burger with home-made patties. It's a must-try for burger lovers.

The recent addition to Zark's menu is their desserts. We tried Fried Snickers (or at least that's what I remember) and it was okay. It tasted like Wicked Oreo of Flaming Wings.

The Plantation Bar + Bistro

The boyfriend and I had one of those lunch in a new restaurant. As suggested by our office mate, we tried The Plantation Bar and Bistro. It looks and feels so high-end, but in reality, their food is affordable and reasonable. The food is yummy with big-serving, which makes it suitable for sharing. We tried the following meals:

Chicken Parmigiana (P185)
(Image was taken last July 19, 2011, via Camera Phone)
Chicken Parmigiana is a bacon-wrapped fillet of chicken, mashed potato, marinara sauce, baked cheese, roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

Cajun Chicken Pasta (P195)
(Image was taken last July 19, 2011, via Camera Phone)
Their Cajun Chicken Pasta consists of Cajun chicken, cream sauce, black olives, and cherry tomatoes.

Grilled Chicken Pesto (P160)
(Image was taken last July 19, 2011, via Camera Phone)
Grilled Chicken Pesto is one of my fave pasta EVER. This is a must-try for me. It's not the best I have tried but definitely worth it.

Chocolate Cake (P150)
(Image was taken last July 19, 2011, via Camera Phone)

To finish our meal we had chocolate cake (also called Amnesia). It's really soft, and for some unknown reason, it felt juicy.

The Plantation is located at 106 Carlos Palanca St. Legaspi Village Makati City. They also have free wifi and accept payment via VISA card. :) I double-checked my receipt and no service charge.

Cheesecake, Etc.

Last Mother's Day we decided to have dessert in Cheesecake, Etc. along Banawe Avenue, Quezon City. The place was really cozy and the staff were friendly. I had the taste of their Choco Dome Cake (image below) and I would highly recommend it to friends who dig sweets and yummy cakes.
