Thanksgiving Lunch at Home

Happy Thanksgiving! We're celebrating a week early with my siblings because my husband and I are going on vacation next week (during Thanksgiving Long weekend).

I thought we would just eat out and order a turkey. Still, my younger sister wanted to cook turkey and all the sides that are usually a part of a Thanksgiving meal; mashed potatoes, green bean casserole (so good!), stuffing (prepared by my sister's boyfriend), gravy, and cranberry sauce. We (hubby and I) purchased pecan and pumpkin pie from Whole Foods to complete the meal.

Thanksgiving Lunch was prepared by my younger sister.

After lunch, we played Smash Bros (like last week) and had fun. The trash talking was hilarious. I love my siblings and enjoy spending time with them. I can't wait to see them again next month for my birthday. They requested we do karaoke.

Sausage Farmer's Breakfast Sandwich and Wrap for breakfast at Tim Hortons

Happy Sunday! Before buying pumpkin pie and pecan pie for our one-week early Thanksgiving celebration, we had breakfast at Tim Hortons.

We ordered the Sausage Farmer's Breakfast in sandwich and wrap form from Tim Hortons. I still prefer the wrap, and it's my favourite item from the Tim Hortons breakfast menu.

I prefer the wrap because the delicious ingredients are smooshed together in a tight space, and you get a bite of everything at once, while in sandwich form, some components tend to fall.

Yes, as long as they are empty. There are water refilling stations inside BC Place.

Does BC Place accept cash?

As of 2022, BC Place does not accept cash. They have a cash to card station inside BC Place.

Pizza and Hotdog for dinner at BC Place | Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs Austin FC

It's the last home game of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the penultimate regular game of their MLS season. Praying for a miracle that they somehow reach the playoff and go further than they did last year.

We decided to continue down the list of items on my checklist for the last home game. So, first, we order a slice of Pepperoni Pizza and Three Cheese Pizza. Then, I ordered a Jumbo Hot Dog, which looks regular to me but whatever.

The pizza slices are better than I expected, given the dryness of the dough of the other available flavours.

Jumbo Hot Dog

The hot dog is also mediocre at best. Head to Costco before the game and get a $1.50 hot dog with drinks, and it's tastier and juicier than this one.

That's it for my BC Place food adventure this year. I will not attempt this again next year and would instead order food that looks interesting.

Lunch at Red Burrito

It feels nice to wake up a little later than usual, especially on a Saturday. My husband went on a morning run while I went to my dental appointment. Afterwards, we grabbed lunch at Red Burrito before doing groceries at Save-on-Foods.

Red Burrito is like Chipotle. First, choose whether you want a red burrito (rice, beans, salsa, and sour cream), a bowl, a taco, or a fajita burrito (with sauteed peppers & onions instead of beans), then you pick what goes inside.

Hubby had a Grilled Chicken Red Burrito while I went for a Spicy Beef Burrito in a Bowl.

Food was acceptable, but nothing to rave about. However, I love the interior of the store.

LIMITED Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard from Dairy Queen

It's a surprisingly high-temperature sunny day in Vancouver with no rain in sight, so walking to Downtown Vancouver across Granville Street feels hot.

Our solution is to enjoy ice cream from Dairy Queen before heading to Anticipated Sunday Mass.

I had Skor while hubby chose the Cake Batter Cookie Dough. We also got an 8-piece chicken bites.

We couldn't remember Cake Batter Cookie Dough and I didn't bother taking a picture of the menu. I searched online for Blizzard with the word "birthday cake cookie dough blizzard" and couldn't find anything. We thought we're going crazy.

I've had enough and just decided to call the branch and asked what's their Blizzard of the Month and he mentioned all the choices we saw online, then to end he said, "We're also offering Cake Batter Cookie Dough for five days only." Finally!

Dinner at Suika

It's Friday! I'm feeling off today. Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I didn't have any motivation to cook or eat. So after work, I just lay in bed staring blankly into space.

To find zest for life again, we decided to have dinner at Suika. It's our first time here this quarter. So I had my usual while hubby tried the Rich Crab Bibimbap.
