Pelicana Signature Yang Nyum Chicken

Happy Thursday! It's that time of the week again – company-paid lunch day! This week, we embarked on a culinary journey to Korea, with Pelicana Chicken as our delicious destination.

I opted for the classic – boneless chicken coated in Pelicana's signature Mild (Yang Nyum) sauce. This vibrant red sauce is the stuff of Korean fried chicken legend. The sweet and slightly spicy flavour profile is exactly what you crave, offering a delightful dance on the taste buds. The crispy golden exterior of the chicken was pure perfection – a satisfying crunch with every bite. However, the interior experience was a bit of a mixed bag. Some pieces boasted juicy, tender chicken, while others leaned a touch dry.

#22 Pelicana Signature Mild Chicken (Yang Nyum)

No Korean fried chicken experience is complete without complementary sides. My plate came with a generous portion of fries – the perfect vehicle for mopping up any leftover sauce. Meanwhile, the coleslaw offered a welcome contrast – a refreshing and crunchy counterpoint to the richness of the chicken.

While Pelicana's Mild (Yang Nyum) chicken lived up to the hype in terms of flavour and crispness, the inconsistency in the chicken's interior moisture prevents it from being an absolute home run. However, it was a delightful introduction for those new to Korean fried chicken and a fun team lunch adventure overall.
