Kam Do!!!

Okay. That's what I usually exclaim when I see Kam Do Bakery. It is my favourite Asian bakery in Metro Vancouver.

When I first arrived in Canada, my mom would bring some of their baked goodies home, and I fell in love with the Chinese Donuts.

As I became more cashless, buying from Kam Do was too much of a hassle because they WERE cash only.

Today, as we were walking from Aberdeen Skytrain Station to Gang Nam Korean BBQ, we stopped by Kam Do, and I prayed that they now accept credit cards. Unfortunately, they still don't, but they now have debit! Yay! *Happy Dance*

There were only four Chinese Donuts left, and I grabbed them all. It's as good as I remember - fried dough dusted with sugar. The inside is also airy.

Walking around, I spotted the Sausage Buns. We usually get this from T&T, so I can compare the two. T&T uses better hotdogs, or maybe the one from Kam Do was just overcooked. Focusing on the bread portion - the Sausage Buns from T&T are sweeter than Kam Do.

I also ordered cookies, and they're perfect with coffee. They're not overly sweet, and they're pretty crumbly. I love it.

The last things we grabbed were the Beef Curry Buns and Pork BBQ Buns. This is my first time trying them, and I am uncertain of what to expect.

I usually don't have any reason to go to this side of Richmond so visiting Kam Do is a rare happy occurrence. Thank God for the continuous provisions and for my husband, who constantly supports my food whims and adventures.

Happy Friday! It's a long weekend and today feels like a Saturday. But, unfortunately, my brain has not processed that it's a Friday.

Anyhow, we walked to the Starbucks location underneath a Jollibee, and it required a lot of restraint to not go up and order Peach Mango Pie.

To satisfy my sweet tooth, we tried the 380-calorie Snowman Cookie from Starbucks.

The cookie is crumbly and quite delicious, but the design icing is way too thick. However, the sugar crystals at the bottom are a nice touch.

Weekly Special: Hojicha Mochi Soufflé Pancake at Fufú Pancake Café

After our food coma lunch at Suika, we walked around and window-shopped at Indigo, Staples, and Toys "R" Us. Then, we decided to have two Sweet Soufflé Pancakes from Fufú Pancake Café.

The Hojicha Mochi Soufflé Pancake is my favourite sweet pancake they have so far. It's not overly sweet, and I love the hojicha-infused whipped cream. The mochi and red bean paste are a nice touch to round up the dish.

2 Kind Grilled Fish Set for lunch at Suika

I took a day off today to celebrate my birthday at my favourite restaurant in Vancouver, Suika. I had my usual Japanese Curry while hubby ordered the last item in the Rice Dish section of the menu that we hadn't tried: a 2 Kind of Grilled Fish Set.

After enjoying our meal and being food coma, the team at Suika sang happy birthday to me and gave us a free Chestnut Pudding. It was such a nice gesture and made me love the restaurant more.

Ghost Pepper Nuggets from Burger King

Happy Monday! I took today and tomorrow off from work for an extra long weekend. So for dinner, we ordered from Burger King.

It seems like the last time we ate from there was in 2020.

I ordered the Ghost Pepper Nuggets to see how spicy it was and was extremely disappointed. There was no heat whatsoever, but it's tender chicken. Why do I get the feeling that we received regular nuggets? 🤷‍♀️

One of the items in the McCafé® festive offerings is the RMHC® Ginger Cookie.

Unfortunately, there's nothing festive about how it looks and tastes. Maybe I expected too much.

Double Glazed Li'l Donut and Maple Iced and Caramel Filled Donut from McCafé®

The Crème Brûlée Li’L Donut is part of the Limited Time Festive Menu, but it's not exactly new since we had it last year in October. So, instead of ordering the crème brûlée, we opted for the two remaining li'l donuts we have not tried: Double Glazed and Maple Iced and Caramel Filled.

Smarties McFlurry and Skor McFlurry

Hubby ordered the Smarties McFlurry, so I can't comment. The Skor McFlurry is good, but I'll stick to Oreo McFlurry. I think Dairy Queen's Skor Blizzard is better if you want Skor in ice cream.
